Rihanna's salute to fashion

Rihanna joined other celebrities yesterday at the InStyle and Grammy Salute to Fashion at nightclub Boulevard 3 in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old Barbados singing sensation will be bridging several decades and joining ’80’s band The Time for a performance at the Grammys this Sunday. Other performers include Feist, Beyoncé, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige.

Rihanna has been nominated for six awards and CBC TV8 in Barbados will be bringing the event live on Sunday.

Good luck, Rihanna!

Singing Sensation?
She’s much more to me than a singing star
If it were so she wouldn’t have gotten this far
Nomination after nomination for our celebrity
Good Girl Gone Bad is the complete commodity
I see a teen who from the very start
No-nonsense and unique, spoke from her heart
Girl with an affinity rarely seen before
She could sing, dance, pose, talk, dress, act and more
Exceptional abilities which she harnessed naturally
Now showcasing them for all the world to see
Sure, she got coached and coaxed, but many do too
All fall short of Rihanna since her debut
Talents are gifts but using them is an art
I think we must set singing sensation and Rihanna apart
One marginalizes her talents to just one ability
No one can deny Rihanna is a multifaceted celebrity
